CowBoy Cancellation Notice:

On Wednesday September 4, due to unexpectedly low ticket sales at the Calvin Simmons, the management team at HJK Center for the Arts offered three alternative choices: cancelling the show, moving it to a later date, or moving it to the North Ballroom at HJK. It was stated that by 9/13 a new budget for the North Ballroom could be proposed, so that option was accepted. We went to work on revision of the set design for CowBoy to fit the new stage, the launch of a half-off ticket promotion and the redoubling of our donor outreach.

Unfortunately, the HJK informed us on 9/13 that their information was no longer correct. The North Ballroom would not be available for the production due to a delay in the installation of new lighting equipment. A production cancellation and ticket refund became inevitable.

Please accept my apologies for this unfortunate inconvenience.

This 5-performance run is the California debut of Cowboy.  It is a Western play set
in 1888; a story of United States Deputy Marshall Bass Reeves and his Creek companion, Grant Johnson. They find themselves stuck in a saloon with two wanted criminals as a deadly tornado approaches the Indian Territory.

(Suitable for ages 13 and older).

If you like Western history, Black American history, Indigenous People’s history, and good old-fashioned drama, then you’ll love
